Memorial

“Phillip G (Bud) Fowler departed this life on December 22, 2012 at his home in Thornton, Colorado after a long illness. He is survived by his wife Ruth, daughter Amy and grandson Gage. Also survived by his brother George Dean Fowler and sister Georgia Ann Arndt as well as numerous extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his brothers Charles Lee Fowler and John Wayne Fowler. Born on October 18, 1948, the last of 5 children to George and Beulah Fowler in Mooreland, OK. He was raised and completed high school in Waynoka, OK. He moved to Denver to attend Parks School of Business. He was inducted into the Army on February 19, 1969. After boot camp he served in Germany and Viet Nam. He was awarded early separation of an overseas returnee on January 28, 1971. He returned to Denver to complete his education while he worked for Jefferson County Schools as a landscaper. His accounting degree took him into the world of construction. For thirty years he went where the work took him. Because of that, there are friends and family all over the United States. In 2005, he returned with his family to the Denver area to live. Phil was an avid sports fan, loved the Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies and his OU Sooners. He loved to play softball and was a great pitcher. He liked bowling and golf. Most of all he loved to travel. Anywhere. The best trips were the road trips. He never minded pulling over for a picture or going out of the way to see something special. It was not uncommon for a four hour trip to take eight. Or to come home with a carload of rocks. The best part was always that the radio or cd player was never turned on. It was all about the time he could spend with his family. Phil will be greatly missed by those who knew him and in the end, expressed how much he will miss all of us.
