Phillip Eugene Sanchez

Phillip Sanchez, 69, of Pierce passed away at his home December 29, 2017. He was born September 22, 1948 in Greeley to Brigido Olivas and Genevieve Martha (Shaug) Sanchez. Phil grew up in Pierce and graduated from Highland High School in Ault. After high school, he joined the U.S. Army in April 1968, serving two tours in Vietnam and being honorably discharged. Since his teen years, he became an avid car collector. He bought, sold and traded cars his entire life. Phil worked as a car salesman his entire career, mostly with Garnsey and Wheeler in Greeley. Phil enjoyed restoring and rehabbing their family home in Pierce, wrestling and socializing with friends and family. Survivors include his brothers, Louis Sanchez of Fort Collins and David Sanchez of Greeley; niece, Christina Sanchez of North Carolina and nephew, Louis Sanchez, II of Fort Collins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Dion Sanchez. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the Adamson Chapel with service to follow at 10 a.m. Interment Ault Cemetery.
