Davis, Phyllis Field, "Nanny" 89, formerly of St. Petersburg, died peacefully April 3, 2015 at Accordia Woods ALF, Palm Harbor. Phyllis was born in Blanchard, Michigan and moved to St. Peterburg when she was 19. She was preceded in death by her husband Lyon L. Davis. They lived in St. Petersburg for their 65 years of marriage. Her most important job was raising her children. Also, she volunteered at the Junior League, St. Pete Library and Bayfront Hospital. Later she was employed by the Pinellas County School System from which she retired in 1990. She was loved by all who knew her and will be remembered as a warm, practical woman who never lost her sense of humor and who dearly loved her family whom she enjoyed immensely! She is survived by her children Nancy (Greg) New Port Richey, Will (BJ), Dunedin and David (Peggy) Woodstock, Ga.; 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. A service will be held, Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, St. Petersburg with interment immediately following at Royal Palm Cemetery- South. Our thanks to Accordia, friends and Suncoast Hospice who comforted her and made sure she knew she was loved. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Suncoast Hospice or First Presbyterian Church, St. Petersburg.
