Phyllis Rose Eggleston, loving wife, mother, sister, and friend, died Sat. April 9th, 2022, at the age of 92. She would have celebrated her 93rd birthday in two weeks. Phyllis was born and raised in Chico, CA and was the oldest of 3 daughters born to parents George and Almeda (Specert) Parker. Phyllis graduated from Chico High School in 1946 and married Mr. Donald Eggleston in Reno, NV on November 3 of the same year. She was a hard, determined worker all her life. She was employed as a telephone operator at Pac Bell, the held various jobs at the San Fransisco shipyards during the war, she made toothpaste tubes at Victor’s Tube Company in Chico, and retired from Tenneco Nut Company in Chico. Phyllis held all these positions while raising her family and being an active member of her community. Phyllis and Donald had one daughter and one son. Phyllis bowled in a local league and was involved in Campfire Girls for many years. She loved spending time with her family at the beach and in the mountains. She often visited her favorite casinos with her sister, and always wore lucky red shirts. She never turned down a good card game. Phyllis and Donald were married for 56 years before Donald’s passing in 2002. She is survived by her loving family: daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Gene Williams (of Silverdale, WA) and son and daughter-in-law Scott and Valerie Eggleston (of Chico, CA). Phyllis was also a loving Momo to 5 grandchildren and spouses and 11 great- grandchildren. Phyllis was so very proud of her family and she will be dearly missed by all.
