Phyllis Lee Lewis
Born in St. Paul, MN on December 9, 1936 and passed away peacefully the early morning hours of August 5, 2024.
She is preceded in death by brothers Clarence and Robert Stoppel and sister Barbara Nash. We can't forget her beloved pup “Lucky”.
Phyllis will remain in the hearts of her children Dawn (Mark) Fossler, Traci (Jim) Krings, Mike (Pam) Lewis, Lynne Hvidsten (Cindy Amberger), grandchildren Jessica (Scott) Krejci, Samantha (Alex) Shoeberg, Jena Krings, Nicole Krings, Kendall Lewis, Beck Lewis, great granddaughter Sydney Shoeberg, brother Curt (Kathy) Sigdestad, dearest cousin Marsha Meier and many other relatives and friends.
Phyllis retired from Hill-Murray High School, where she managed the food service there for close to 30 years. She spent many years serving on the North St Paul Fire Department's Auxiliary, leading Brownie and Girl Scout Troops and running her kids, in their younger days, from place to place.
She was an incredible cook! Everything from scratch, always hosting holidays and making everyone feel welcome. Some of the things she recently loved: basking in the sun working on her tan, coffee & fresh veggies from the garden! In days gone by she loved dancing, bowling, keeping her yard just “so”, fishing at the lake & spending time in Florida, in the wintertime, with her dear friends.
Phyllis lead by example and in doing so her children and grandchildren have learned the importance of hard-work, what it looks like to be resilient, what caring looks like and how to be grateful; some in the family inherited her quick-wit. She really did have a great sense of humor.
The family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those that loved and cared for her at Ecumen Lakeview Commons (where she lived for almost 11 years) and in recent months her entire team at Ecumen Hospice.
Visitation will be held from 10:00AM until 11:00AM with a memorial service at 11:00AM on Monday, August 19th at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, North St. Paul, MN. A luncheon will be held immediately following the service at the church. The family will have a private burial.
