Phyllis I. "Phil" Russell, age 62, of Johnstown, died Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady. She was born January 30, 1950 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late Angus and Elma Orcutt Russell. She was a 1968 graduate of Gloversville High School. Phil works as a machine operator at MCA Record Company in Gloversville, retiring due to disability in 1992. She is survived by her partner of 27 years, Rose Marie "Shorty" Simonson of Johnstown; their three cats: Amanda, Amber and Alexis; two sisters: Doris Santella Richard of North Port, Florida and Donna Ostrander of Johnstown. Several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. She was predeceased by a brother, Richard "Ricky" Russell. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, January 17 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville. Cremation took place at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady. Memorial contributions may be made to the James A. Brennan Memorial Humane Society, 437 Nine Mile Tree Rd; Gloversville, NY 12078.
