Phyllis Joyce Schultz

March 13th, 1936 - March 31st, 2024

Phyllis J. Schultz of Greeley, CO (formerly of Bloomfield, MT) entered her Heavenly home on March 31, 2024 - and what an Easter celebration that must have been!

She was born on March 13, 1936, in Spokane, WA to Rev. Roy and Gladys Anderson. Phyllis met the love of her life, Myron Schultz, in Glendive, MT, and they were married on June 3, 1952. Myron and Phyllis made their home on the family farm in Bloomfield, MT where they raised four children: Duane, Eileen, Jan, and Lynn. They farmed for 40 years before moving to Greeley, CO in 2000 to be closer to their youngest daughter Lynn and her family. During their time in Greeley, Phyllis enjoyed volunteering with their church and with United Way of Weld County. She especially enjoyed talking with all the new moms as part of the Bright Beginnings program - now called Bright by Three. As more years passed, Phyllis retired from volunteering, but she continued to try to stay as active as possible and especially loved telling stories about her childhood and years on the farm. Faith was very important to Phyllis. Being a pastor's daughter, Phyllis became a Christian at a very young age and maintained her faith until the day she passed away. Phyllis and Myron drove many miles through the years, sharing their faith at various churches and events. Phyllis not only talked about her faith but also lived it through her love of serving others.

Phyllis was very much a people-person and enjoyed making new friends, and lending a helping hand whenever she could. Nothing made her happier than cooking a nutritious, delicious meal for all around her table, sewing beautiful clothes for special occasions, or sharing canned produce from her wonderful garden. As she got older, Phyllis continued to do whatever she could to share her faith with others.

Survivors include son Duane (Pam) of Bloomfield, MT and daughters Eileen (Dennis) Toews of Billings, MT, Jan (Rod) Bell of Sidney, MT, and Lynn (Miles) Shevela of Evans, CO. Phyllis is also survived by nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Her sweetheart Myron, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren proceeded her in death.

A family service will be held in May in Sidney, MT. Cremation has taken place, and Phyllis' ashes will be buried next to Myron in the Bethlehem Mennonite Cemetery, Bloomfield, MT at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to United Way of Weld County, Bright by Three Program

Loren and Janice Soft

We remember Phyllis' warmth and hospitality......and her wonderful cooking. She and Myron opened their home to us and entertained us royally , both hosting a shower before our wedding and then later when we would visit eastern Montana on various occasions. I know their children and grandchildren were very dear to her and she readily shared information about their whereabouts, careers, etc. It's for sure that she put her faith into practice through putting her thoughts into actions.....she was an integral part of her church community, wherever she worshipped.
