Phyllisee Foust Jackson

Jackson, Phyllisee Foust, 93, of Largo, died Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at home of natural causes. She was born on January 20, 1919 in Galesburg, Illinois. She also lived in Olympia, WA and Pittsburgh, PA before moving to St. Petersburg where she lived for many years. She was a graduate of Monmouth College and received her PhD from the University of Pittsburgh. She was a member of the Florida Governor's Commission on Aging and a longtime member of the ASPCA. She also volunteered many hours to CASA in St. Petersburg. She was a loving, caring and generous individual. Mrs. Jackson was predeceased by her beloved husband, Gordon E. Jackson, who died on December 10, 1999. She is survived by two sons, Rev. David E. Jackson, Dayton, OH and Richard W. Jackson, MSGT, USAF Retired, Belen, NM; her seven grandchildren, Samantha W. Walters, Lenora Hirschfeld, Michelle Stover and Angelique Besse, all of New Mexico; and Christina Handorf and Jeremy Jackson, both of Ohio; and Eric Jackson of Florida; her eighteen great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren. The family would like to thank all those at Arden Court in Largo for caring for our mother for the last 4 years. The family would also like to thank the Suncoast Hospice staff who cared for our mom. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to Arden Court, 300 Highland Avenue NE, Largo, FL 33770, for the continued care of her dog, Gianni.
