Pierre A. Van Belle

Pierre A. Van Belle, 88, passed away April 11, 2021 with his loving wife of 64 years, Theresa L. (Roy) Van Belle, by his side. He was born on December 2, 1932 in Poilley, France to the late Leopold and Victorine (Roussel) Van Belle. He is survived by his loving wife, Theresa L. (Roy) Van Belle; their two daughters, Carol Josefek and her husband, Rick, and Nancy Van Belle and her husband, Andy Whitehead; 2 grandchildren, Cassandra Allard and her partner, Joshua Ducharme, and Cayla Daniele and her husband, Nick; as well as 3 great grandchildren, William and Irielle Ducharme, and Tia Daniele. Pierre was predeceased by his sister, Henriette M'Vemba, and his brother, Albert Van Belle. He leaves his sisters, Paula Gelinas and Odette Dardenne. He will also be missed by his "adopted" kids, Tom and Lisa Napiorkowski and several nieces and nephews. Pierre was in the US Army and fought in the Korean war. He worked many years in construction and then worked for 17 years as the Building Inspector for the Town of South Hadley. In his spare time he enjoyed carving and making wine, but his greatest love was that for his family. He will be remembered fondly for his sense of humor, warm smile and generous heart. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 15th from 5-7 pm at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, April 16th at 11:00 am at St. Patrick's Church in South Hadley. Pierre's burial will be held privately.
