Plen Tibbett

Plen E. Tibbett was born November 3, 1918 in Agra, Oklahoma to William J. Tibbett and Julia Mae (Winfrey) Tibbett who farmed in the Western Treasure Valley for over 40 years. Plen Married Eva (Steinhaus), of Parma, and they farmed in the local area before moving to Eureka, California. Plen and Eva had 5 sons and a daughter in their marriage. He worked for Simpson Plywood Company in Eureka for 32 years as a millwright mechanic until he retired in 1980. He later ranched west of Homedale before moving back to Caldwell. During his years in Eureka he later married Billie Harvey. Plen passed away peacefully January 11, 2013 at the age of 94. He is survived by his sister Shirley Friel; his children: Ray (Mae) Tibbett, Marvin (Lynn) Tibbett, Marilyn (Bruce) Selby, stepsons: Jerry (Margaret) Harvey, Don, Keith and Bill Harvey; 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews. Plen was preceded in death by his wife Billie of 45 years, his parents, brothers: Otis, Bill and Fred; sisters: Mary, Agnes and Oma; and sons Elmer, Melvin and Clyde. A public viewing will be held Sunday, January 13, 2013 from 3:00PM to 6:00PM at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. A funeral service will be held Monday, January 14, 2013, 1:00PM at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell with viewing one hour prior to service. Private burial will be held at the Wilder Cemetery. Plen was a veteran of WW II, serving in the Pacific, mainly in the Philippines and Japan. He was awarded four service medals during his Army tour. Plen’s family would like to give special thanks to the staff at The Annabelle House in Caldwell and to Legacy Hospice for their gracious care and kindness. Service Information
