It is with great regret that our family announce the passing of Polly Savage McKeever, 76, of Seabrook Island, South Carolina. Her daughter was by her side as she left this world peacefully during the early morning hours of July 7, 2021. Mrs. McKeever (Polly) was born on February 20, 1945 to Nancy DuPont Reynolds and William Glasgow Reynolds in Wilmington, Delaware. After graduating from Tower Hill School in Wilmington, she went on to study English and Literature in college. In 1965, she married William Carter Bowles, Jr, going on to have one child, in 1968, Victoria Slagle Bowles. After the death of her first husband in 1973, she married John Schofield Savage in 1976. They had no children together and were married for 30 years, living in or near Omaha, Nebraska. After the end of this marriage, Polly moved to South Carolina to be closer to family. She was shortly reacquainted with an old friend, Stuart A. McKeever. They married in April 2010, and were together until his passing in 2020. Polly was a passionate craftswoman, and excelled at needlepoint, quilting, and knitting. She was also a working member of the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America for many years. Polly Savage McKeever was predeceased by her father William Glasgow Reynolds, her mother Nancy Reynolds Cooch, her sister Katherine Glasgow Reynolds, her brother William Bradford Reynolds, and her only grandson, Hunter Schofield Cruz. She is survived by her only child, Victoria Bowles Cruz, her granddaughter Sophie Cruz Ingle, and her two great-grandchildren, Selah Nancy Ingle and Wesson Scott Ingle. The family requests that all notes and condolences are sent to her daughter in Bozeman, MT. Please email [email protected] for her contact information. Polly requested no services be held and that her ashes be spread as per her wishes. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention in her and her grandson’s names.
