Priscilla F. Byrd

Priscilla Byrd, age 78, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 20, 2023 at Holston Manor. She was a 1963 graduate of Ketron High School. Priscilla attended Midfield Freewill Baptist Church in Kingsport. She was a retiree of Solstas/Quest Laboratory where she worked as a phlebotomist after many years of service at the Eastman location. Most of all, she was a loving mother, sister, aunt and friend, and will be greatly missed by all those who love her. She was preceded in death by her father, Ray Crawford; mother, Grace Jones Lawson; brother Charles Crawford; sister, Jean Hartgrove; former husband and father of their daughter, Mike Byrd; and many beloved fur babies. She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Byrd; sister, Joyce (Wayne)Beard; special nieces, Jennifer (Kevin) Caldwell and their daughter, Taylor; Jamie Pruitt and daughter, Jaliyah; special nephews, Rev. Jesse (Cynthia) Hartgrove and family, Nathan (Laura) Hartgrove and family; and Michael Crawford; special cat, Smokey; along with many special Byrd family members and many friends and family. The family wishes to offer a special thanks to Suncrest Hospice for their compassionate care. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 24, 2023 at Oak Hill Memorial Park in Kingsport, with Rev. Jesse Hartgrove officiating. Nathan and Jesse Hartgrove will be providing special music. All those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:45 am.
