Priscilla Grider
February 6th, 1943 - March 8th, 2012
Priscilla Lee Grider, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed peacefully on March 8th 2012. Priscilla was born on February 6th 1943 in Stockton, CA, the eldest daughter of Leon and Glena Fletcher. She moved to the area with her family in the early 1950's. She married her high school sweetheart John Grider on June 25th 1960. Together with her husband she owned and operated Roto-Rooter Salinas as well as Tom's Septic Tank Service and Greenline for 35 years. Priscilla loved quilting, cooking, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her retired years she enjoyed traveling with her husband and family and made many wonderful memories that her family will cherish forever. Priscilla was a loving and caring person who prided herself on helping others and never hesitated to help anyone in need. Survived by husband of 52 years John Grider, Daughter Kimberly Phillips, Son-in-law David Phillips, Son Scott Grider, Daughter in law, Veronica Grider, Granddaughters, Jill Hock, Julie Phillips, Samantha Grider, Ashlee Grider, Aubree Grider and Great-grandchildren Daniel and Kaylee Broenner, Sister Jan Logan, and Niece Linda Pettitt. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 12, 2012 1-9pm at the Healey Mortuary 405 N. Sanborn Rd. Salinas, CA 93905. Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 2pm at the Healey Mortuary Chapel. Burial to follow services at the Garden of Memories Cemetery 850 Abbott St. Salinas, CA 93901. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
