Priscilla Heeter
June 9th, 2018
Priscilla Heeter Priscilla Kay Heeter, a longtime resident of Eugene, Oregon, passed away surrounded by family on 5/18/2018 at the age of 73 after a long fight with Parkinson’s. Priscilla was born in 1944 in Pasadena, California to John and Mary Virginia Sampson. She grew up in Southern California with her brother, Mike. Priscilla moved to Oregon to attend the University of Oregon where she received a degree in Geography. Here she met her husband, Jack. Priscilla and Jack had been married 52 years. The most enjoyable and memorable times for Priscilla included spending time with family, racquetball at Courtsports, baking, attending Duck tailgaters and cheering on the U of O. One of her biggest loves and passions was taking care of and showing horses. She was an Amateur Champion many years in the Oregon Quarter Horse Association. Some of her favorite horses included “Hamilton” and “Shorty”. She loved riding and was well known for her sportsmanship in the horse world. She also had a great love for dogs with her favorites being Corgis and American Cattle Dogs (blue heelers). Priscilla is survived by her husband, Jack, daughter Tracey, son Court and his wife Danielle along with grandchildren Peyton, Cruz and Cami as well as her brother, Mike. The times she enjoyed most with family were at the beach. Priscilla LOVED the ocean as it seemed to bring her back to her childhood. Priscilla (or “Mimi” as her grandkids called her) had a strong faith. This was a source of strength and encouragement to her, especially when her Parkinson’s diagnosis took away the strength she needed to do many of the activities she loved. A private graveside service was held on May 24 in Eugene. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 9 from 1-3 pm at Shadow Hills Country Club. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Priscilla Heeter to: Parkinson’s Resources of Oregon 8880 SW Nimbus Avenue, Suite B Beaverton, Oregon 97008
