Quirina "Juanita" Batista

BATISTA, Quirina, “Juanita,”80, of Albany, NY. Juanita was born in Santo Domingo and moved to the United States in the 1960’s. She was a proud Certified Nursing Assistant. Juanita married Juan Batista at the age of 24 and after 42 years of marriage, Juan passed away with Juanita by his side. He adored her and Juanita never remarried. Juanita was baptized Catholic and continued to love God throughout her life. After living with her daughter Rayna in NY for seven years, Juanita spent her last month living with her daughter, Miguelina and surrounded by her loving family. She enjoyed playing bingo, dominos, and going to the casino to play slots. Juanita’s favorite color was pink, she wore pink every day. She always looked forward to going to the salon for manicures and pedicures and to get her hair done. Juanita could always be seen in either red or hot pink lipstick and she was always wore her jewelry at all times, she never left home without it. She loved to make people laugh. Juanita was a very honest woman and always told it like it was. She was known for having no filter. Juanita is survived by one son, Jose Batista and his wife, Keisa; her three daughters, Maria Skidmae and her husband, Bobby, Miguelina Rivera and her husband, Jose; Reyna John and her husband, Robert; twelve grandchildren, Mariah, Travis, Adamaris, Moise, Daviana, Jezabell, Davielis, Alexis, Jose Jr., Taina, Mercedes, and Giovanni; three great grandchildren, Aaliyah, Malachi, and Evan. A funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Loyless Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment to take place at Trinity Cemetery. In Juanita’s memory the family asks that you wear pink to her funeral as it was her favorite color.
