-- View a Video -- Rachel Maudrie Ms Rachel DeShazo Maudrie 'Granny', 89, passed away at her home Monday, November 9, 2009. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, at Bethel Baptist Church, with the Reverend Vernon Gales officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. Ms Maudrie was born December 10, 1919, in Spencer, Virginia, to the late Thomas (Sr.) and Ethel DeShazo. Ms Maudrie, above all, loved the Lord, her family, Bethel Baptist church family, and friends. She was formerly employed with Dupont in Martinsville, VA, and with Pilot Life Insurance in Greensboro. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, and friend. She will be dearly missed by all. Ms Maudrie is preceded in death by a son, John Clendenon Jr., brothers, Charles DeShazo, Thomas DeShazo Jr., and Willie Ben DeShazo, granddaughter, Shelly Blevins. She is survived by a son, Edward Galen Clendenon, of the home; daughters, Patricia W. Foust and husband Lonnie, of the home, Donna Grubb, of Greensboro; sister-in-law, Josephine DeShazo, of Martinsville; grandchildren, Lynn Long (Allen), Kathy Suggs (Mike), Debra Schoolfield (Edward), Diana Turner (John), Laura Metro, Lonnie Foust Jr. (Tanya), Kelly Kidd, Julie Moseley (Rick), Candace Jones (Mike), Ashley Clendenon, Kevin Clendenon (Leean), Brian Clendenon (Jennifer); 20 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm Tuesday, at Lambeth-Troxler funeral Service. Online condolences may be made to www.lambethtroxlerfuneralhome.com
