DEL PIZZO, Rachele, 75, of Tampa, Florida passed away January 4, 2014. She was born in Minori, Italy, lived most of her adult life in New York and then followed her children to Tampa, Florida seven years ago. She was of Catholic faith and a member of St. Mark Catholic Church. Rachele was an awesome cook and was a long time chef at the Covenant of Mary the Queen in Yonkers, New York. She had a big heart and was a nurturer. She was best friends with her daughter and dedicated her life to caring for her son Vinny. Rachele was a proud and loving wife, mother and sister. She is survived by her husband, Alessandro Del Pizzo, of 60 years; daughter, Rosa Jimenez and husband, Bobby; son, Vincent Del Pizzo; brothers, Gennaro, Antonio and Vincenzo; sisters, Mena and Lucia; granddaughter, Alessandra Jimenez and best friends, Maria Forchetti, Columbia DiPietro and Ida DiPietro. A mass will be said for her on Friday, January 10, 2014 in Minori, Italy. Her final resting place will be in Italy with her family. Donations may be made in Rachele’s memory to the Special Olympics.
