Ralph E. Johnson

"E.Longmeadow- Ralph E. “Babe” Johnson, 82, of Parker St., died December 10, 2004 at E.Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Center. Born May 31, 1922 in Palmer, MA, he was the son of the late John N. and Ruby A. (Smith) Johnson. Ralph has lived in E.Longmeadow for the past 6 ½ years, previously residing in Tyler, TX. Mr. Johnson served his country during WWII in the U.S. Navy and was a 15-year safety investigator for the Federal Department of Transportation, retiring in 1987. He also was a 22 year Massachusetts State Trooper and retired in 1970. Ralph leaves his wife of 6 ½ years, Laura (Fillmore) Rollins-Johnson, along with two sons, Steven Roy Johnson and wife Sharon of Flint, TX, and their son Darin Johnson of Austin, TX, Raymond A. Johnson and his wife Amy of Monson, MA, two step-sons, Robert Rollins and his wife Bev of Holland and William Rollins and his wife Gail of Houston, TX. Ralph is also survived by a sister Marion Minor and her husband Horton of E.Longmeadow, sister- in-law Grace Bentley of Bethany, Oaklahoma, grandchildren Robert Rollins II and his wife Deborah of Hampden, MA, Lynndia Roncarati and her husband Henry of E.Longmeadow, MA as well as great grandchildren Carrie and Joseph Rollins of Hampden, MA, Zack, Althena, Christina, Alex and Ben Roncarati all of E.Longmeadow, MA. Ralph was predeceased by his first wife Marion (Minor) in 1997. A funeral service will be held Monday at 6:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N.Main St. Visitation will precede the service from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Burial will be in Tyler, TX. Donations may be in his memory to First Baptist Church Building Program, Parker St., E.Longmeadow, MA "
