Ralph B. Lawson
July 9th, 1953 - September 30th, 2017
Ralph B. Lawson, Jr., age 64 of Big Stone Gap, VA, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2017 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born July 9, 1953 and resided in Big Stone Gap, VA, for all of his life. Ralph had worked for 30+ years as a warehouse technician in the mining industry. He was a member of Roller's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church in Pattonsville, where he had attended since 1997. Ralph was the love of his wife, Kathy's life and was a great provider and hard worker for his family and for his church. He was a wonderful father to his son and grandfather to his 3 grandsons. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph B. Lawson, Sr. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Kathy Robinette Lawson; son, David Allen Lawson; 3 grandsons, Tanner, Owen and Reuben Lawson; mother, Ann Lawson Wagner; 3 brothers, Danny Lawson and wife, Faye, Jack Lawson and wife, Michelle, and Mike Lawson and wife, Nioma; sister, Myrtle Lambert and husband, Ken; special sister-in-law, Kim Robinette; special brothers-in-law, Jason Robinette, Doug Robinette and David Robinette; special mother-in-law, Ruby Robinette; and a host of friends. The family will receive friends from 4:30 pm - 7:00 pm on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Scott County Funeral Home in Weber City, VA. Funeral services will begin at 7:00 pm with Elder Greg Hill officiating and eulogist, Jason Robinette. Music will be provided by Aubra Hill and Kim Robinette. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Holston View Cemetery in Weber City, VA. All those wishing to go in procession are asked to meet at the funeral home at 11:15 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Roller's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church in care of Kim Robinette. You may mail donations to Kim Robinette at 2516 Canton Road, Blackwater, VA 24221. Carter-Trent/Scott County Funeral Home in Weber City is proudly serving the Lawson family.
