Ralph Mangus
January 9th, 1939 - October 31st, 2023
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Mr. Ralph Mangus, born January 9,1939 and departing from this life on October 31, 2023. A man of virtue and vigor, Ralph led an abundant life filled with simple pleasures and deep connections. He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, coupled with an indomitable spirit that inspired all who knew him. Ralph is survived by his beloved wife, Vicki Mangus, and their daughter, Angela Mangus. His sister, Ruth Terry, and brother, Jim Mangus, share in the sadness of his passing. He will also be fondly remembered by his son-in-law, Dan Potter. Known for his culinary preferences, Ralph relished spaghetti, crab legs, steak, and mashed potatoes. A rum and coke was his preferred drink and he appreciated a good country tune. His television favorites included Judge Judy, Dr. Phil, and Sean Hannity (at 9:00pm on Fox). Ralph wasn't a big movie guy, but recently enjoyed watching the Barbie movie. At the end of the movie, he surprisingly said "It was a really good movie!" Ralph was an avid fan of Ohio State, the Dallas Cowboys, and loved to engage in competitive games of Uno (amongst card games). He cherished his time spent gardening, fishing, cooking, doing yard work, visiting the VFW, and simply spending quality time with his family. Ralph's preferred vacation destinations were Hilton Head and Myrtle Beach, while locally he enjoyed visiting The VFW, Schmits, and The Okatie Ale House. An Air Force veteran who served in Vietnam, Ralph was a true patriot at heart. He cared deeply for his country and was zealous about the cause of Making America Great Again. The color blue was a particular favorite of Ralph's and his personality, characterized by intelligence, strength, honesty, loyalty, reliability, generosity, and hard work shone brightly in his daily life. He always encouraged others to never give up and to keep their chin up during challenging times. Ralph's dogs, Duke and Shiloh, will miss their companion and the peanut butter cookies they got to share with him in his chair. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to be made to the PTSD Foundation of America. You may donate by visiting the following URL: https://everloved.com/life-of/ralph-mangus/donate/. Ralph's life was a testament to dedication, love, and resilience. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and all who were fortunate to know him. He will be dearly missed.
