Ralph Edwin Nason

December 12th, 1951 - July 27th, 2024

Ralph was born December 12th, 1951 to Dan Edwin Nason and Mary Louise Robinson-Nason in San Luis, the oldest town in Colorado. He passed peaceful in his home of Huntington Beach, California on July 27th, 2024 surrounded by family. Ralph was raised in La Veta, Colorado where he graduated from high school in 1969. He was voted friendliest in his senior class.

 

He later moved to Pueblo, Colorado where his son Benjamin Eric Nason was born in 1974. Later he moved to Huntington Beach, California and married the love of his life Kay in 1983. Ralph became a bonus dad to Tony and Shelly Smith. He worked as a mechanic for 50 plus years. He loved helping people with their vehicles. He often went home to Colorado to hunt and fish. He thrived in the outdoors. He was a big fan of the Denver Broncos and the Los Angeles Angels.

 

He most enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. He spent a lot of time teaching Laynee how to work on cars and grow vegetables in the garden. He loved taking them fishing. The biggest legacy Ralph will be known for is his love and passion for Our Lord and Savior. He had such a compassionate and giving heart for everyone he came in contact with. So many people have said they found the love of the Lord after spending time with Ralph. He was a very active member of his Beach Point Church. He attended and helped lead weekly bible study groups. We will miss his unconditional love, strength and generosity. He had such a profound impact on others. His oldest niece, Tanya helped to be his caregiver in his final days and assisted with final preparations.

 

Ralph is survived by his wife of 41 years, Kay Nason of the home. Son, Ben Nason of Woodburn, OR. Bonus Daughter, Shelly Smith of Huntington Beach, CA. Bonus Son Tony Smith of Huntington Beach, CA. 4 Granddaughters, 2 Grandsons and 1 Great-granddaughter. Sister, Donna Adams of La Veta, CO and many Nieces and Nephews.

 

Ralph is proceeded in death by his parents, Dan and Mary Nason. Sister, Jeannette Johannessen. Brother, Danny Nason. Brother in laws, Mark Adams and Ed Johannessen. Niece, Shannon Bruce. Grandparents, Ben and Maude Nason, Frank and Christine Robinson.

 

Please join us on Monday August 5th, 2024 at 10:30 am to celebrate Ralph's life and legacy. Services will be at Beach Point Church located at 17415 Magnolia Street, Fountain Valley, CA 92708. For those who are unable to join us in person the service will be viewable through live stream at live.beachpoint.com. Ralph's earthly resting place will be in La Veta, CO on the Spanish Peaks.
