South Hadley--Ralph L. Schmitter, 78, died Monday, November 15, 2021 at his home in South Hadley. Born in Holyoke, Massachusetts on September 28, 1943, he was the son of the late Raymond & Lillian (Helm) Schmitter, brother of Jon Schmitter, and Louisa (Schmitter) Clawson, Uncle of Elliot (Jay) Clawson. Ralph held a Commercial Driver’s License, and worked as a Truck Driver until his retirement in 2003. He leaves his wife Kristina Schmitter (Reynolds), three children, Scott Schmitter and his significant other Katie LeBlanc, Bryan Schmitter and his wife Yona, Nikolaus Schmitter and his wife Nerissa; his brothers Mark Schmitter and his wife Robin, Max Schmitter and his wife Lori; three grandchildren, Nyah, Lillian, Nikolaus; his nephew Kevin Schmitter and his wife Amy and their son Logan; as well as several other nephews, nieces and cousins. Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 26, 2021 from 4:00pm - 6:00pm at Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ralph’s memory may be made to AMVETS https://support.amvets.org/.
