Ralph William Schnorr

May 6th, 1918 - February 1st, 2024

1918-2024

Ralph was born on a farm in Lee County, Illinois, one of 12 siblings. He is survived by 2 children, a son in Texas and a daughter in Oregon, 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and a sister in Corvallis Oregon.

In 1940 he and his bride moved to Albany Oregon. Ralph had many jobs in his life, the one he enjoyed the most was being a fireman for 15 years in Albany. He built the Red Barn Motel in Millersburg, it did not last long and was torn down when the State built I-5. He and a partner built the mobil home park Heatherdale in Albany.  It was during this time that he became interested in travel trailers, starting the Albany Amblers Club and buying property on the Oregon coast for a RV Park.

At the age of 52 he decided that he had worked long enough and retired.  He and his wife traveled extensively in Japan, Europe, Central and South America, and of course the US and Canada. He divided his time between Oregon and Arizona, becoming one of the “Snow Birds”.

He will be missed by all who knew him. A graveside service will follow in the spring.
