Ralph R. VanAlstyne, Sr.

Ralph R. VanAlstyne, Sr., 73, of Gloversville, NY, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2022 surrounded by his loving wife and family. Born in Albany, NY on September 11, 1948, he was the son of the late Orville VanAlstyne and Alice and William Diamond. He served as a Sergeant with the US Army, receiving an Honorable Discharge. He worked all his life to provide for his family. He was employed through FJ&G Railroad and Delaney Construction. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, who he loved dearly, Marian VanAlstyne, daughters Robin Rowback (Dan, who was not only Ralph's Son-in-Law, but also his best friend), Cindy VanAlstyne, and a son Ralph VanAlstyne, Jr. (Jennifer), Connie Warner, and Amy Leville (Terry), 9 grandchildren, including Joey Rowback, who was his pride and joy, several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and his fur babies, Leo and Kilo. Ralph is also survived by his sister, Trudy (Thomas) Harrison. As per Ralph's wishes, there will be no funeral services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Samuel S. Stratton Department of Veteran's Affairs, 113 Holland Avenue, Albany, NY 12208. The staff of Walrath and Stewart funeral Home is honored to be assisting Ralph's family during this difficult time.
