Ramona Christine Johnson

Ramona was born in Coburg, Germany, November 21, 1946. A longtime resident of Lakewood, WA, she passed away June 14th, 2017, surrounded by family. She adored children, having spent 25 years as a grade school teacher, retiring in 2012 from the Clover Park School District. She had strong faith and was very active at United Methodist Church at Lakewood, where she worshiped for more than 40 years. Ramona was a rare, unique soul, and will always be remembered for her kindness, generosity, compassion, and love of family. Preceded in death by her parents Robert and Hildegard Mathewson, and sister Karen; survived by her loving husband of nine years, Paul; his sons Mark (Diane) and Tom; her daughter Julie Conner (Joe) and son Troy Mason (Trish); 8 grandchildren and two great grandchildren (joys of her life); siblings Tom, Mike, Becky, and Kathy; and numerous extended family members and adoring, devoted friends.Memorial service to be held 1pm Saturday, June 24th, 2017 at United Methodist Church at Lakewood, 6900 Steilacoom Blvd. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to a cancer charity of your choice.
