Randy Ernest Clemens

Randy Ernest Clemens, 59, of Caldwell, Idaho passed away early Sunday morning, March 5, 2023. He was born on November 24, 1963, to Howard and Myrtie “Wendy” Clemens in Caldwell, ID. He had 3 older sisters and a younger sister. His sisters were delighted to have a baby brother and as the only boy he was spoiled by them. During his childhood the family moved around a few times but spent most of their time in Caldwell. As a child and later as a teenager, Randy was surrounded by many cousins who he was close with. He would often tell stories about the mischief his cousins, siblings, and himself got into growing up. He spoke very fondly of these memories. In 1989, Randy was introduced to the love of his life, Esther Marie Baber. Their romance quickly blossomed, and they welcomed their first daughter, Amanda Noel, in December 1990. Randy was over the moon about being a father. Their little family grew in November 1992 with the birth of their only son Thomas Matthew. The family was complete with the birth of their youngest daughter, Taylor Renae, in December 1996. He and Esther were married on May 18, 2002. Randy proudly took on the role of father figure to his sister-in-law Susan’s four children, Jordan, Mychaela, Troy and Sean. He always made sure that they knew he loved them as his own. He loved all his children beyond measure. Even on the days that they drove him crazy, he would kiss them on the head and say, “you’re lucky I love you.” Randy had many jobs throughout the years to help provide for his family but spent most of his working years as a Security Guard for Simplot. Randy loved children and was filled with joy to become a grandpa. He had five grandchildren and a sixth on the way. Being “Papa” to this wild bunch was one of his favorite roles. Randy loved the outdoors. He was always up for camping, fishing, hunting, and going to the shooting range. He enjoyed telling stories about his life. The kids would often joke that they had his stories memorized because he would unknowingly repeat the same ones. He loved history and was the man that you wanted on your team during trivia. He knew so much about everything and was always teaching everyone around him something new. He rewatched his favorite shows, Frasier and Cheers, repeatedly and loved that it had become a family favorite. He was an avid sports fan, and would want us to add in, “Dallas Cowboys Rule!”, on his behalf. He enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys, the New York Yankees, and the Los Angeles Lakers with his son. He was always kind and generous. To know him was to love him. He will be missed by every person whose life he touched while here. He is preceded in death by his father, Howard Clemens; his sister Sheila Harshbarger; his niece, Shelly Rosenberry; his grandparents, Samuel and Myrtie Hensley, Raymond and Mary Clemens; and brother-in-law, Rob Kitchen. He is survived by his wife, Esther Clemens, his mother, Myrtie “Wendy” Clemens; his three children, Amanda (Alex) Eccard, Thomas (Hailee) Clemens, and Taylor Clemens. His “bonus” children, Jordan Baber, Mychaela Baber, Troy Elstun and Sean Elstun. His sisters Cheryl (Wayne) Shroll, Reina Kitchen, and Shawna (Ben) Hinkle; His sister-in-law, Susan (Greg) Elstun; His brother-in-law Greg Harshbarger; His grandchildren; Autumn, Kingsley, Jackson, Camden, Hudson, and Oliver; and many nieces and nephews.
