Raymond Artiaga
April 15th, 1947 - June 28th, 2013
Raymond Artiaga, born to Lucy A. Trujillo on April 15, 1947 went to be with the Lord on June 28, 2013. Raymond was born in Artesia, New Mexico and moved to Alamogordo at 12 years of age. He graduated from Alamogordo High School in May of 1966. Upon graduation, he joined the U.S. Marines and served his country proudly until injury in Vietnam in 1968. He received the Purple Heart and returned to San Diego where he resided for many years working in the Banquet/Hospitality business. Raymond's rosary is scheduled for Monday July 8th at 8:00 AM at Riverside Funeral Home in Albuquerque, NM with burial to follow at 11:15 AM at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Lucy and Sam Trujillo of Alamogordo; his children: Ramon Artiaga (Albuquerque), Reynaldo Artiaga (Texas), Alejandra Terrazas (Oklahoma), Reynette Artiaga (San Diego), Reyna Artiaga (San Diego) and Reymina Artiaga (Albuquerque) as well as 23 grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters: Henry Artiaga, Billy Artiaga, Sam Trujillo, Alice Anderson, Lilly Johnson, Arturo Lopez, Alonzo Lopez, Armando Lopez, Evangelina Lopez, Johnny Lopez, Pedro Lopez, and Mario Lopez. Raymond was a true family man who enjoyed being a tata and father. His hobbies included visiting casinos and anything having to do with the San Diego Chargers! He was a giving man who was always helping those in need. He will be missed by all whose lives he touched.
