Raymond Charles Boulais
March 8th, 1943 - July 12th, 2003
" Raymond C. Boulais, 59, of Jensen Rd., died Saturday at Wing Memorial Hospital. Born in Holyoke, March 8, 1943, he was the son of Jean Paul Boulais of Holyoke and the late Palmira (Vieira) Boulais. Raymond grew up in Holyoke and was a graduate if its high school. He furthered his education with a Bachelor's degree from Western New England College. He spent his working career as a high school English teacher at Chicopee Comprehensive High School for 30 years, retiring in June. For many years, Mr. Boulais was the Year Book and Student Council Advisor. A communicant of St. Francis Church, Raymond was a founding father of the Knights of Columbus 10698 in Belchertown and was twice Past Grand Knight. He was also past State District Deputy, a member of the 4th Degree Honor Guard and was a State Delegate to the National Convention, as well as holding many offices over the years. Mr. Boulais was also a member of Swift River Sportsmen's Club, the Holyoke and Ludlow Portuguese Clubs and the American Legion. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 29 years, Jeanne (Coderre) Boulais, two daughters, Christine J. Boulais of Belchertown, and Adrienne Boulais of Leverett. He also leaves two brothers, John P. of Holyoke and Russell A. of Boston, along with two sisters Cheryl J. Boulais of Charlemont and Katherine L. Barszcz of Easthampton. A funeral service will be Wed. at 9:00 a.m. from the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home, (Rte 202), followed by a liturgy of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Francis Church. Burial will follow in South Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Donations may be made in his memory to Knights of Columbus 10698, Jabish St, Belchertown, 01007. "
