Raymond Thomas Hernandez

October 17th, 1936 - September 7th, 2012

Beloved husband, father and grandfather, Raymond Hernandez, 75, of Nampa, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 7, 2012 at a local hospital surrounded by family. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Boise (4950 Bradley St, Boise) at 2 PM. Inurnment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Nampa at a later date. Raymond was born in Albert Lea, Minnesota on October 17, 1936 to Cecelio and Mary Hernandez. He married Inez Flores on February 27, 1961 in Caldwell. The family migrated between Arizona and Idaho for many years while he worked in the seasonal farm labor industry, retiring in 1988. The family settled in Nampa where they raised nine children and one granddaughter. He was caring and always willing to lend a hand to friends and neighbors in need. He befriended neighbors and built intimate friendships that he and his beloved wife Inez cherished throughout the years. Some of the moments that brought him the most happiness were spending time with family and friends while making everyone laugh with his gift of storytelling. Raymond is survived by his wife of 51 years, Inez; children: Margarit (Joe) Coulson of Tigard, OR; Chavela (Thai) Nguyen of Tigard, OR; Mike Hernandez of Nampa; Manuel Hernandez of Caldwell; Ignacio Hernandez; Agnes (Nico) Nunez of Beaverton, OR; Paul Hernandez of Nampa. They also raised one granddaughter, Felicitas (Jamie) Baker of Pampa, TX; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, and a brother; a son Raymond Jr.; two daughters, Maria Hernandez and Jenny Hernandez; and a granddaughter Mary Jane Salinas. Dad, we love you and you will forever be in our hearts, until we meet again. Service Information
