Sandra O'Neil

My wife and I would meet Sandy when shopping to at God's Store House thrift store in Harrisburg, Oregon.  Sandy taught an example of giving of her time in volunteering to help others, especially those struggling.  She faithfully worked at God's Store House for about seven years.
Before that, she served several years at the Teen Challenge Thrift store on River Road.
And before that, there was "My Little Children."
Sandy showed that one is able to give of their time to help others even when life seems busy.  Her life taught:

"Let each of you look not only to his own interests,
 but also to the interests of others."
 - Philippians 2:4 (ESV)

We are so sorry to hear the passing of Pete he will always be remembered as the go getter for the American Legion Post 140 in Canastota. He was a kind and loving man who was always their to lend a helping hand and always had that special smile. Sharon we are so sorry he is truly going to be missed our hearts and thoughts and prayers go out to you and the family

I said it before, but the amazing part to me is how many Joe stories I have compared to the actual amount of time I spent with him. Family, friends, and loved ones have lost a truly great man… I’ll always remember my Mustang Guru… So sorry for your loss.

🕯️ I just learned of VADM Miller's passing while searching the internet.  I am deeply sorry for your loss, dearest Claire and Miller family...I had the pleasure of working for VADM Miller when I was a YN1 Flag Writer and when he was the Deputy Chief of Naval Material in early 1985.  I continued assisting him until he retired from active duty in October 1985.  While we worked together only about 10 months due to the changing circumstances in the Navy, it was very gratifying working with such a fine Naval Officer and gentleman on the special projects assigned by the VCNO.  He was very proud of his service, USNA classmates, and his family! 
Memories--because I was pregnant with my daughter, Rachel, the Admiral was a bit concerned about my working in the office up until delivery.  He confessed that he wasn't used to the new norm of working prospective mothers and needed to know if I had a plan to get to the hospital should I go into labor while at the office.  I reassured him that I had a plan, and he relaxed a bit, then asked if I could teach him how to open the safe, just in case. LOL.  Turns out I went into labor and delivery late one night while the Admiral was on leave.  He returned to the office the next day, and he was quite surprised when I called him from the recovery room to explain that I would not be at work that day.  He was glad to hear both the new mom and baby Rachel were doing well.   VADM Miller and Claire were very kind with good wishes and baby gifts, and I was able to attend his retirement ceremony at the Pentagon in my Service Dress Blue uniform just a few days later.  They were both surprised and happy I was able to be there. Unfortunately, I do not have any photos to share.
I also had the good fortune to reunite with Admiral Miller and Claire in 1989 during a port visit to Monterey.  I was assigned to the USS McKee (AS 41) at the time.  I recall being called to the XO's office, who wanted to know why a retired 3-star would be asking about Chief Yeoman Valerie Johnston.  Of course, I chuckled and explained that I was his flag writer for a brief time.  Later that day, I met up with the Admiral and Claire for dinner.  I also enjoyed a windshield tour of Pebble Beach, with lunch at the PB golf course. He also sent congratulations and best wishes when I retired in 2004 as a Master Chief.
I am honored to have served with this quiet and distinguished man!  Thank you for the lovely memories! Rest in Power, Admiral!

The Golf Staff at Monterey Pines Golf Course proudly served Vice Admiral Miller and his golfing buddies for many years. We will miss you greatly.

So sorry for your loss, we love you and love nana, my prayers are with you all.

Our hearts have been sad to have lost such a "Beautiful" soul such as Sherry! She was so kind and humble and what a Smile she had on her face! We want to say how very "Sorry" we are for your loss, she was a very "Special" lady to the "Aday" Family that goes way on back! She is reunited in Heaven with many people who went on before her and she is now catching up!! Rest in Peace Sherry!! The Aday's!!

Robert Bob Negley my friend, Christian brother, fishing partner, mentor, peacemaker, camping buddy, etc, etc.

Many years ago Bob & Kay worshipped with us for several years at Aurora First Assembly of God in Aurora, Colorado. Bob and I became close friends, especially when both of us were experiencing serious back problems. We prayed for each other regularly, and we went fishing together many times, near and far. One day we went fishing in Black Lakes on Vail Pass. When we parked and got out of the car, a rain shower was roaring down the mountain. Bob dropped his fishing gear, lifted both hands in the air, and prayed; Dear God, in the name of Jesus, please stop the rain now. The rain stopped immediately. True story. One snowy and icy Saturday, Bob drove me up to Lake John in Walden, Colorado. On that trip, he showed me how to drive defensively,  while I grabbed on to everything in the vehicle I could in fear and trembling. Our goal was to one day plan a fishing trip to Alaska. 
    
On one Memorial Day weekend, Bob took myself, and  one other brother with his two sons camping in The Red Desert, in Wyoming. We pulled up late night at a tiny Motel, with the office closed for the night. Bob led us over to the unlocked rooms and said; you sleep in this room, you in that room etc. I said to Bob, "are you crazy." I don't want to be staring the barrel of a shotgun in the middle of the night. Bob said, trust me, I've done this before. Go to sleep and we'll pay the owner at the office in the morning. Sure enough, we went to the office the next morning and payed the pleasant lady at the office. Amazing! We hiked in the desert for two days searching for Indian arrowheads, sleeping in a large tent, Bob cooking etc. We also camped and fished overnight next to lakes etc many times. 

Bob was a great cook at the church kitchen, his home and elsewhere. He loved boxing, so he would purchase the pay per view fights, and invite several of us to watch at his house. We all paid him a fee, then he had a meal for us and the fight. Bob's cooking specialty was Meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy etc, etc. After eating that meal, you were good to go for a few days.

It was a sad day for me when Bob & Kay moved out of Colorado. We did not see or communicate with each other much, but I never forgot Bob Negley. It was and still sad to know that he passed away.

Kay and family, make it a great celebration of Bob's life, and may God give all of you several extra measures of peace and comfort now and always.

Bob was the best friend any new homeowner could ask for when we moved in across the street from him and Kay back in the 90s in Aurora Colorado. Bob quickly became a trusted friend, mentor, fishing and hunting buddy. We loved pizza nights at their house, when Bob would make the thickest, most amazing homemade pizza and we’d watch Quigley Down Under. I thank God for Bob’s life and I just  have a feeling that his reward is great!

Bob was an inspiration to those who knew his story of Salvation. He was a fine example of how to serve others. Blessings to you, Kay!

Dad…Frank and I, along with Shyla and Holly (of course) love and cherish you so much and always will. We already miss your smile, your hugs, your love, your faith, your sense of humor and your uncanny ability to touch any type of food and turn it into a banquet. We are hurting without you here, but thank the Lord that YOU aren’t anymore. We are taking care of Mom and are a family together. Watch over us, with Chloe, until we all meet again. We love you MORE!
