Raymond Leckbee
December 19th, 1937 - July 25th, 2019
Tribute Raymond (Ray) Howard Leckbee, 81, of Allenspark, CO, went “Home” on Thursday, July 25, 2019, surrounded by his loved ones; children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters. A celebration of life service will be held on August 1, 2019. Visitation at 9:00 am, services 10:00 am, at the Carroll-Lewellen Funeral Home, 503 Terry Street, Longmont, Colorado. Ray was born December 19, 1937, in Novelty, Missouri. He graduated from Payson High School, Payson, Illinois, in 1955. On June 22nd, 1963, Ray married the love of his life, Sharon Broemmer, in Quincy Illinois. Ray served in the US Army, and graduated from the Firefighter Academy in Maryland, then served on the Longmont Fire Department for 21 years, retiring at the rank of Battalion Chief. During this same time, Ray also worked for Carlson Plumbing and Heating for over 30 years. Ray worked very hard for his family. Ray was an avid reader, and enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters and friends. He enjoyed breakfasts with his retired firemen buddies every Tuesday at Aunt Alice’s Restaurant in Longmont, and he came to love the workers who became friends at this restaurant and thought of them as extended family. He also enjoyed his weekly lunches in Allenspark with his dear friends of the Lunch Bunch. Ray was a big St. Louis Cardinal Fan, a big Colorado Rockies and Bronco fan. Ray was a faithful member of the Allenspark Community Church. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, James and Grace Leckbee, his beloved wife, Sharon (Broemmer) Leckbee, son-in-law Scott Anderson, and great grand-child Phibie Moyer. He is survived by daughter Linda Anderson, of Sturgis, SD; Lori (Eric) Kinch of Longmont, CO; Tim (Kathy) Leckbee of Santa Fe, NM; Bobbie (Mike) Lackovic of Indian Harbour Beach FL; 10 grandchildren, Tahnee (Jeremy) Wydra, Kristen (Patrick) Graham, Derek (Virginia) Kinch, Ashley (Robert) Harkins, Shawn (Annie) Kinch, Jason (Casey) Kinch, Jesse (Josh) Moyer, Dallas (Delilah) Kinch, Shanda Kinch, Mikayla Nelson; 17 living great-grandchildren, Caleb Moyer, Keaneo Moyer, Sierra Moyer, Jennifer Kinch, Michelle Kinch, Sharon Kinch, Haylie Anderson, Liv Wydra, Tyrel Anderson, Noah Moyer, Baylee Kemp, Abigail Harkins, Dominick Moyer, Piper Harkins, Aspen Kinch, BoDean Moyer, Leif Graham, and many loving nieces, nephews and relatives. His family and friends knew Ray as a quiet, loving, generous, and mild mannered man. He was very loved and well respected by all who knew him.
