RAYMOND EDWARD MING, SR. A Rosary for Raymond Ming, Sr. will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Johns Catholic Church in Chico. Ray was called to be with our Lord July 6, 2011. He passed away at his home, with his devoted and loving wife, Fay at his side. Ray served in the Army in the South Pacific during WWII on the repair ship U.S.S. Davis. Most of his life he worked in management for American Bridge and U.S. Steel in South San Francisco. Ray had a great passion for life. He was an avid golfer, expert fisherman, wonderful ballroom dancer and world traveler. He refereed football in Northern CA for 37 years for high school and college. Ray was a life member of the VFW Chico, a member of the Paradise Moose Lodge, the Catholic Portuguese Holy Ghost and Fatima Club, life member of IDES in Half Moon Bay and past member of the Elks Lodge. Raymond was a man of deep faith in God, a gentleman, a kind and loving person and generous to all who needed his help. Ray is preceded in death by his son, Richard Ming. He is survived by his wife, Fay; son, Ray Ming, Jr. (Kathy); grandson, Kurtis Ming; granddaughter, Ramie Levene (Gary), and two great- grandchildren, Andy and Kayla Levene. He will be missed by many cousins, extended family and friends. Donations may be made in his memory to the Project Healing Waters (fly fishing for disabled veterans), P.O. Box 695, La Plata, MD 20646, or to a charity of your choice.
