Longtime Gig Harbor resident Raymond Tau On Ho, 74, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family, at his home on May 29th, 2014. Ray was born in Honolulu, HI in 1939 to Choy Kyau Ho and Dorothy Lam. There he spent his childhood before moving to Washington to attend Pacific Lutheran University where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Education in 1962. In 1970, Ray earned his Masters in Fine Arts in Ceramics from the University of Puget Sound. The majority of Rays career was spent as an art teacher and, later, as a residential contractor. In addition, Ray grew vibrant gardens, cooked extravagant meals, and continually created works of art with his powerful hands. Ray is survived by his wife, Carolyn; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Erin Ho; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffery and Sarah Ho; five grandchildren, Eleah, Lillian, Evan, Chloe and Sidney; sister, Nathalie Hee; and brothers, Ron Ho and Tim Ho. A memorial will be held at Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church on June 12th at 3:00 pm. Since Ray left behind such bountiful flower gardens, please consider donating to South Sound CARE Foundation in lieu of sending flowers. Dr. Frank Senecal is the founder of SSCF and he works tirelessly to ensure that all patients have access to cutting-edge treatment. The purpose of SSCF is to fund and provide cancer clinical trials in the South Sound Region. Their address is P.O. Box 1314 Tacoma, WA 98401-1314 or you can donate on line at www.southsoundcarefoundation.org/donate-1 or by phone at 206.552.4419. Please make a note that your donation is in memory of Ray Ho.
