May 22nd, 1920 - February 16th, 2012
Raymond I. Purcell, Jr., 91 of Sun City Center, Fla passed away February 16, 2012. He served in the U.S. Navy Seabees during World War II and retired as an electrician. He was an active volunteer in the LifePath Hospice and was instrumental in the land acquisition, planning and construction of the first hospice house in Sun City Center, Fla. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Anne, two daughters, Linda (Rick) Baldelli and Kathleen A. Leipold, two brothers, Robert (Joyce) Purcell and William (Nancy) Purcell, a sister, Ann (Daniel) O'Connell, 3 grandchildren, Brian and Jennifer Leipold, and Ryan Baldelli, great grandson Tavin Hirchfield, a step daughter, Mary Anne (Robert) Derhake, step son, H.R. Christopher (Marie) Wantz, 7 step grandchildren and 19 step grandchildren. Proceded in death by wife of 45 years Dorene nee (English) Purcell. Memorial Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 702 Valley Forge Boulevard, Sun City Center, Fla. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to LifePath Hospice, 3725 Upper Creek Drive, Ruskin, Fla 33573
