Raymond Anthony Salazar
May 28th, 1948 - January 11th, 2020
Raymond (Ray) Anthony Salazar passed away on January 11, 2020. Ray was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on May 28, 1948 and was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, NM. He served in the United States Army in 1969. He married Crisie in 1970 and had 3 children, Antoinette, Natalie and Raymond Anthony. He owned and operated Salazar Boots and Shoes Sales and Repairs. For a time, he and his brothers Bobby and Benny ran the business together. Ray also was in Sales. He was preceded in death by his parents Ramona Ida Chavez Salazar and Benjamin George Salazar, brother Charles (Charlie) and brother Benjamin (Benny) Salazar. Ray is survived by his daughter Antoinette, son-in-law Joe Sandoval, granddaughter Makayla, granddaughter Madilynn, daughter Natalie, son-in-law Jeremy Cottle, granddaughter Savana, granddaughter Sierra, grandson Jeremiah, granddaughter Sophia, son Ray Anthony, daughter-in-law Carrie, granddaughter Larissa and great-grandson Joseph. His sister Theresa Garcia and brother-in-law Freddy Garcia, Brother Robert (Bobby) Salazar, Sister Rose Salazar and fiancé Michael Herrera. Nieces Shuri Romero, Renee Jaramillo, Nichole Conboy, Roberta Maestas, Janell Varela, Frances Belanger, Kimberly Castilllo-Jaramillo, Vanessa Perea, Naomi Salazar, and nephew Joseph Jaramillo and their families. His greatest love was his family and there are many memories of time spent together. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 11 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Kachina Chapel, 6000 Kachina St. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120. A mass will be held at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5311 Phoenix Ave. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110 on January 29, 2020 at 11:00 am.
