Belchertown - Raymond F. Shaw, 75, passed away on April 25, 2023, at Baystate Wing Hospital. He was born on December 19, 1947, in Springfield, MA to Donald and Matilda (Dias) Shaw. Ray was raised in Springfield and has lived in Belchertown since 1955. Ray owned and operated a dairy distribution business for many years. In his retirement, he worked as a driver for Hulmes Transportation Services. He also enjoyed writing and had many articles published in sporting magazines over the years. In his leisure, he enjoyed fishing and bike riding. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, William Shaw, Donald Shaw, Jr. and Joseph O'Neil. He is survived by six siblings, James Shaw (Christine) of Brimfield, Robert Shaw of Belchertown, Susan Shaw of FL and Sandra Dobson (Dan) of FL, Patricia McMenamin (Charles) of Springfield and Peg West (Kenneth) of Chicopee. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 1st from 5:00-7:00pm at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00am at Oak Grove Cemetery, 426 Bay St. in Springfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the National Alliance on Mental Illness Western Mass by visiting www.namiwm.org.
