Send Flowers Raynell Fowler Shields September 21, 1926 - December 7, 2013 Kernersville-Raynell Fowler Shields, 87, went home to be with the Lord December 7, 2013. Funeral Services to celebrate her life will be held 11:00AM Wednesday December 11, 2013 at Smith Grove Baptist Church in Colfax, where she was a longtime member, with Pastor Chuck Peters officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A native of Guilford County, Raynell was the daughter of the late Connie Holyfield and Henry Clinton Fowler. She was married to the late James Leon Shields. A homemaker she had lived most of her life in Dobson, and later moved to the Colfax Community. In addition to her parents, and husband, Raynell also was preceded in death by her sons Roger White and Billy White, sisters Helen, Lorena, and brothers William, Charles, Jimmy, and Luther. Survivors include her brothers Ernest Fowler of Winston-Salem, John Fowler and Judy of Madison, and Sam Fowler and Suzanne of Winston-Salem; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The family will visit with friends immediately following the service, in the church fellowship hall, on Wednesday.
