Rebecca Jane Taylor

Rebecca (Becky) Jane Taylor of Melbourne passed away quietly November 13, 2011 as a result of pancreatic cancer. She was born and raised in Clayton, NC, daughter of the late David Ira and Lessie Hardee Wilson and lived for many years in Chesapeake, VA; Tampa and Suntree. Becky was a social worker in VA and FL and an officer at First Florida bank. She was a Support Enforcement Investigator Supervisor for the State of VA. Becky had a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences from the University of South Florida. She was a member of Suntree United Methodist Church and the Empty Nest Sunday School class. Becky participated in classes at SAIL and the Shepherd Center. She taught and was Director of the Youth Sunday School in Norfolk and Chesapeake VA for many years. Becky is survived by her husband, Robert Eugene Taylor of Melbourne, her children, Phyllis Boykin Banks of Darlington, SC; J. Kaye Taylor of Chesterfield, VA; Jennifer Vernick (William) of Brunswick, ME; Teresa Boykin Anstey (Stephen) of Merritt Island; Timothy Wilson Boykin (Erlinda) of Charles City, VA; seven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held in Clayton, NC. A memorial service and a reception will be held at Suntree united Methodist Church Tuesday, November 29th at 2 PM.
