Regan Joseph Curran
November 29th, 1980 - June 9th, 2017
Regan Joseph Curran, a forthcoming world-changing engineer, cocktail enthusiast, and ice cream expert, died suddenly on June 9th, 2017 at the age of 36. He is survived by his husband, Beau Curran, his father Dan Curran and mother Pat Curran, his siblings Jamie Curran (and Rachel Davis) of Colorado, Jacqueline (and Evan) Quasney of San Francisco, and Marty Klingebiel of Renton. He was preceded in death by his mother, Robin Curran. Regan also leaves behind a large extended family, and of course the hundreds of people whose lives he touched during his short time here. Regan had recently found his dream home in Tacoma with Beau, after living most of his adult life in Seattle. After working as a dedicated employee of Tom Douglas, he had discovered his passion for gardening, physics, and woodworking. He was pursing a degree in Computer Science as a student of Tacoma Community College, with aspirations of completing his degree at the University of Washington of Tacoma. Regan had a newfound freedom after earning his drivers license at 36 years old, cruising around in his car, Betty White. His next challenge was climbing Mount Rainer, one of the many goals he had hoped to achieve. He was in a wonderful place in his life, happier than ever with Beau, the love of his life by his side. Their time together was cut short for reasons we will never understand, but the love they shared would fill a thousand lifetimes. Regan leaves Beau with Silas the cat, Triscuit the tortoise, and dozens of bottles of hot sauce. His young nephews, Griffin and Aldwyn, will someday marvel over Regan’s extensive Lego collection and his ability to create infinitely imaginative Christmas lists. Regan will be remembered for his big heart and being fiercely loyal to his family and friends. His sense of humor and quick wit were unrivaled and will forever be missed. To honor his gentle soul, please take a moment to reflect on all of your blessings. Tell those you care about that you love them and give a flower to a friend. Live life to the fullest and embrace each day with joy and gratitude. Do or say today what you have been putting off, as tomorrow is not promised to any of us. We invite friends and family to celebrate Regan’s life on Saturday, June 17th from 1:00pm-5:00pm at the Tacoma Mountaineers Club, 2302 N. 30th St., Tacoma 98403 In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to LGBT Youth and marginalized communities.
