Regina V. Karp, 90, of Galway Road, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at the Wesley Health Care in Saratoga Springs. Born August 26, 1921 in Amsterdam, New York, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Catherine Bragiel Parcinski. She was a life long area resident and a 1939 graduate of the Wilbur H. Lynch High School. Regina was first employed at the Collett manufacturing in Amsterdam and later she worked as a cashier for Lou's Supermarket for many years. She was a member of the St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam and the Rosary Society of the church. Regina was married to Edward Karp who passed away January 4, 1997. She was also predeceased by sisters, Francis Opalka and Helen Koziol. Survivors include two sons, Richard Karp Cindy of Rotterdam Junction and Peter Karp of Ballston Spa; a daughter, Judith A. Jack Bennett of Amsterdam; two granddaughters, Melissa Jeremy Scott and Jessica Karp of NC; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 16, 2011, at 11:15 am at the St. Stanislaus Church, Reid Street, Amsterdam with the Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis as celebrant. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 5 to 7 pm at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. Cremation has taken place at the Vale Cemetery Crematorium in Schenectady. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Regina's memory to St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church or St. Mary's Catholic Church in Galway in care of the funeral home.
