Regina Sebesta
August 2, 1936-May 28, 2024
Regina E. “Jean” Sebesta, devoted wife, loving mother, and faithful Catholic, died peacefully on May 28, 2024, after a brave 18 month battle with cancer. She passed away at home in St. Petersburg, FL where she resided for the past 34 years. Born on August 2, 1936 in Chicago, IL, Jean's life was defined by her unwavering love for her family and her deep-rooted faith. She was the beloved wife of James Sebesta, who preceded her in death earlier this year, marking the end of a loving partnership that spanned 67 years. Jean leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth through her six children, James (Gail), Anne Comber, Steve (Roxanne), Mike (Charlotte), Bob (Sue) and John (Mary Beth). She also leaves behind twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. In addition, she is survived by her two beloved sisters, Margie Compernolle and Mary Noziglia. Her ever-positive spirit and selfless devotion enriched the lives of all who knew her. Throughout her life, Jean's faith was her guiding light, providing solace and strength in times of joy and sorrow alike. Her commitment to her Catholic beliefs served as an inspiration to those around her, leaving a profound impact on her community and beyond. Jean Sebesta--better known as “Nonnie” to her family-- will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her loved ones forever. May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with her beloved husband in God's loving embrace.
The funeral will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 17, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 200 78th Ave NE, St. Petersburg, FL.
