Regine "Reg" Behrendt Barcley
July 23rd, 1924 - April 9th, 2018
Regine "Reg" Behrendt Barcley, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on April 9, 2018. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Robert B. Barcley, her daughter Margery Faith, and two sisters, Leone B. Horn, Hobe Sound, FL and Margery B. Scola, Bonita Springs, FL. Born in Oak Park, IL on July 23, 1924, she graduated from Briarcliff College for Women in Briarcliff Manor, N.Y. and briefly taught at a private school in West Orange, NJ before her marriage to Robert B. Barcley in May 1945. They first moved to St. Petersburg from Short Hills, NJ in 1949 when The Barcley Co. and Barcley Corset Co. relocated their International headquarters from Newark, NJ. to the Beach Drive offices. Business took them back to New Jersey for a few years but returned in 1961. A devoted wife and mother; her life revolved around God, her late husband, her 6 children, 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Through the years she had been involved with Christian Women’s Club, Child Evangelism- having had Good News Clubs for children in her home, a Bible Study for women and a Messianic Bible study in her home. She and her late husband helped form Faith Covenant Church in the late 70’s. Throughout the years, she had been a Sunday school teacher, Sunday School Superintendent and served on many Church committees. She leaves five children: Regine G. Burt, [Rev. Matthew], Springfield, MA; Nancy B. Manley, Pinehurst, NC; Victoria Hope Barcley, St. Petersburg; Robert D. Barcley Esq., [Becky], St. Petersburg; Dr. William B. Barcley, [Kristine], Matthews, NC; Thirteen grandchildren; Jessica Sperry, Lyndsey Cordes, Andrew Manley, Lauren Espinosa; David, Michael and Christina Barcley; Leo, Anna, Luke, Maggie, Kate and Will Barcley plus ten great grandchildren.Seven nieces, one nephew and eight grandnieces & nephews. At her request, Funeral services and internment will be private. Memorials, in lieu of flowers to Empath Hospice or Steps of Faith, Inc. David C. Gross Funeral Homes, Central Avenue Chapel in St. Petersburg is serving the family.
