Regis Doughlas Kunz
July 13th, 1943 - August 7th, 2024
Regis Douglas Kunz, of Nicolaus, CA, 81, passed away of pancreatic cancer on August 7, 2024, in Roseville, CA, surrounded by his close-knit family.
Born on July 13, 1943, in Pittsburgh, PA, he proudly served in the U.S. Air Force before graduating from CSUS in economics and dedicating over 30 years to farming and working for the State of California.
Regis was deeply cherished by his family and is survived by his loving wife, of 56 years, Marilyn; children, Lisa Kunz of Sacramento, CA, Brian Kunz, and Allison Kunz; and granddaughters, Paige Hanson and Claire Kunz, all of Yuba City, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Theresa Kunz of Turtle Creek, PA and his brother Richard Kunz of Harrisonburg, VA.
Known for his love of family, farming, golfing, hunting, and watching Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates games, Regis's presence was a comforting constant in the lives of those around him. He treasured his daily walks with his dog, Buddy, frequent drives around the countryside, and Sunday dinners with his family.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Ullrey Memorial Chapel, 817 Almond St., Yuba City, CA 95991.
The memorial service, followed by a reception, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 23, 2024, at Fairview Community Christian Church, 1991 Pacific Ave., Trowbridge, CA 95659.
A graveside service will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Nicolaus Cemetery, Marcum Rd., Nicolaus, CA 95659.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to SSRA Pool, PO Box 225, Nicolaus, CA 95659. Ullrey Memorial Chapel of Yuba City, CA, is assisting the family with arrangements.
