Reid Johnston

Reid Johnston passed away peacefully in his home on March 16th, 2022. He was a loving father, grandfather and husband to his wife Janice of 59 years. He was born on February 23rd, 1935 in Chester SC. He graduated from Central High School in 1954 and attended UNC Charlotte. Reid was a successful sales representative, an avid Nascar fan, was passionate about flying and loved playing tennis and golf. He enjoyed the fellowship of his many friends and was happiest when surrounded by family. He served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force and his Christian service was at Amity Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder and on the Fellowship Committee. Reid was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Claude Johnston and Wilkie Lee Johnston and his siblings, Loualta Laurent, Glenn Johnston, Raeford Johnston, Carol Vick Johnston and Leroy Johnston. He is survived by his wife, Janice Jones Johnston: his children: Allison Johnston, Eris Dale Johnston (Eydie) and Reid Selby Johnston II (Julie): grandchildren: Brooke Ester (Mike), Trevor Holtzclaw, Shelby Johnston and Ashlee Johnston: his sister in law, Betty Johnston and nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Saturday, March 19th at 10:00 at Amity Presbyterian in Charlotte and the funeral service will follow at 11:00. A graveside service will be held at Carolina Presbyterian Church, 4446 Carolina Church Rd. Little Rock, SC 29567 at 4:00 on Saturday. Memorials can be made to Amity Presbyterian Church, 2831 N.
