Rene Joseph Chicoine
August 22nd, 1947 - March 2nd, 2020
Dr. Rene J. Chicoine, D.C., 72, of Colorado Springs passed away on March 2nd in Colorado Springs with his family by his side. Rene was born in Sioux City, IA to Hubert, and Betty on August 22nd, 1947. He married Mary on May 4th, 1968 in Sioux City, IA. After graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic in August 1969, he practiced in Atchison, KS for 17 years, moved to Colorado in 1987, and practiced there for 30+ years, and retired from 2 practices. He used the activator method, and was one of the few chiropractors to use it; he liked it because it worked with speed vs. force. He also did manual adjustments for those who requested. He had healing hands, and changed many people's lives, and it was his passion to help others feel better. He was an avid outdoorsmen who loved fishing, hunting, skiing (water and snow) and golfing. He had a green thumb, and was always excited for summer when he grew gladiolus of many different beautiful colors. He loved giving the flowers he grew to his wife, daughters, and friends, and seeing the smile that would brighten people's day. Rene is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary; children, Marty who has 3 children Jessica, Jerika, and Brianna. Angie who has three children Tanner, Karissa, and Kristin. Karissa has one child named Isaish, his great grandson born on his birthday. Tammy who has two children, Preston and Alyssa. And sister Paula. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. A celebration of Dr. Chicoine's life is being held at Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church located in Black Forest, CO with the Priest Reverend Andrzej Szczesnowicz, officiating on Friday, March 27th at 11:00 am. We give thanks to God for taking him to Heaven, and relieving all his pain, and illness. Service Information Family to do services at later date
