Chicopee - Rene R. Trudeau, 90, passed away May 7, 2023, at Holyoke Soldiers Home. He was born on October 26, 1932, to the late Alexander and Bertha (Blaine) Trudeau. Rene proudly served his country in the US Army from 1952-1956, and fought in the Korean War. After returning home, he worked as a Barber for 15 years in the Hampton Ponds area of Westfield. He later worked for Barnes Municipal Airport until he retired in 1995. After retiring, Rene enjoyed traveling, casinos, horse racing, and football. Besides his parents, Rene is preceded in death by his son, Rene Trudeau, Jr. of Illinois; wife, Ruth (Mcann) Trudeau; granddaughters, Nicole (Trudeau) Rodriguez, of Holyoke, and Renee Trudeau of Illinois; and his siblings, Rita and Edward. He is survived by his first wife, Joanne, of Northampton, and their children, Edward Trudeau (Linda) of Holyoke, Joann Jarvis (David) of Shelburne Falls, and Marianne Nooney (Steve) of Westfield. He is also survived by his niece, Darlene, and nine grandchildren, Andrea, Tara, Johnathan, Amie, Meghan, Danielle, Lisa, Melissa and Thomas, as well as several great grandchildren. Calling hours will be held Mon. May 15th from 10-11:30am followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Anne's Church in Chicopee at 12pm. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.
