Reverend David Dirk Davenport, 76, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Friday, March 28, 2014 at Tidewell Hospice in Port Charlotte. Reverend Davenport was born July 20, 1937 in Danbury, Connecticut to Gilbert and Rose Mildred (nee Fennell) Davenport. He was a retired pastor for the United Church of Christ. Reverend Davenport is survived by his son, David E. Davenport of Four Oaks, NC; daughters, Kathy L. Davenport of Eagan, MN and Carol A. Davenport Henk and her husband, Patrick and their children, Lucas, Hunter, and Sawyer of Beldenville, WI; brother, Albert Davenport of Clinton, CT; sisters, Susan Davenport of Key West, FL, Deborah Hart of Southington, CT, and Betty Lebert of Clinton, CT; and 2 nieces and 5 nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, April 4, 2014 at Pilgrim United Church of Christ, 24515 Rampart Boulevard in Port Charlotte.
