Rhonda Lynne Conrad

Tribute Rhonda Lynne Conrad, 68, of Longmont, Co, passed away Friday November 26,2021. After the marriage of the local and CSU footfall star, Albert “Al” Reigel to a beautiful cheerleader and Miss Colorado 1950, Barbara Norrish, Rhonda Lynne Reigel was born into a Longmont pioneer family. Rhonda took great pride in her early settler heritage. Rhonda was an unique individual with a huge heart and giving nature. She loved children and animals. Her house was usually full of pets, especially animal friends to whom she was giving a forever home. Rhonda worked for the City of Longmont at the Longmont Public Library for 27 years taking exceptional care of the building, always wanting patrons and staff to see the Library at its best. For many years Rhonda was also the custodian for the historic Callahan House. She worked longer and harder than most and took great pride in her work. Rhonda considered the library staff her adoptive family. If someone needed something Rhonda would do her best to help them out, oftentimes making follow up calls or just to say Hi. Rhonda loved buying candy to hand out during the library’s Halloween parade and seeing the children’s faces light up. She was a much appreciated and well-loved member of the Library family. Rhonda had a big personality and made friends easily, she had an infectious disposition, lovable sass and made people smile. Rhonda was a very memorable individual. Rhonda was enamored with the paranormal even hosting paranormal investigative sessions at several of the City’s historic buildings. In Richard Estep's Haunted Longmont he mentions Rhonda in the Acknowledgements. Rhonda had a special bond with her maternal grandmother, Mildred Hargrove, who was an instrumental influence in Rhonda’s life. Preceding her in death are her grandparents Mildred Hargrove and Virgil Norrish, father Albert Reigel, mother Barbara Peppler, and brother Randel Conrad. She is survived by her step-father, Mel Peppler, daughter Shannon, grandchildren Lane O’Connor of Longmont, CO, Kelsie Michael of Torrington WY, Korbin Liley and Kailee Liley both of Cheyenne WY. The oldest grandchild, Lane, lived with Rhonda for the past year helping around the house and to maintain the beautiful backyard that was Rhonda’s special place. She is also survived by a large extended family of cousins and many, many loving friends. A celebration of life will take place at a later date in 2022.
