**Obituary for Ricardo Zamarron, Sr.** It is with deep sorrow and respect that we announce the passing of Ricardo Zamarron, Sr., a cherished father, veteran, and educator. Ricardo passed away peacefully on October 11, 2024, in Aurora, Colorado, at the age of 90. Born on February 7, 1934, in Brownville, Texas,
Ricardo lived a life marked by dedication, service, and learning. Ricardo's life was a testament to the pursuit of knowledge and service to his country. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1975. During his tenure, Ricardo attained the rank of Technical Sergeant (TSGT) and served his country during the Vietnam War, earning an honorable discharge after his years of dedicated service. As a Master Computer Instructor, he was instrumental in shaping the skills of countless airmen, leaving a lasting legacy within the armed forces community.
In his civilian life, Ricardo continued his love of education. He obtained a Master’s Degree, demonstrating his commitment to lifelong learning and his passion for imparting knowledge to others. His career as an educator was not merely a profession but a calling, and those who learned under his guidance remember him fondly as a mentor and inspiration.
Ricardo was predeceased by his beloved wife, Olga G. Zamarron, and his parents, Santiago and Guadalupe Zamarron; Daughter, Susana Zamarron. He is survived by his devoted son, Ricardo Zamarron, Jr., daughter Angela Zamarron; granchildren, Kristan Shuey, Alexis, Kayla Zamarron. Alisia and Penelope Bettez; great grandchildren, Chalie, Olivia Dexter and Henry Shuey; who will cherish the memories and values imparted by his father, grandfather and great grandfather..
His life will be honored with a Visitation and Prayer Service on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 5:00 pm at Romero Funeral Home ~ Chapel of Repose in Aurora, CO. Following this, a Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Romero Funeral Home ~ Chapel of Repose, Aurora, CO, beginning with a final visitation at 9:00 am, followed by the service at 10:00 am. Ricardo will be laid to rest with Military Honors at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 1:00 pm, a fitting tribute to his service and dedication to his country.
Ricardo's journey was one of strength, wisdom, and unwavering service. His legacy will endure in the hearts of all who knew him.
