Richard E. Aragon

    Richard E. Aragon, a resident of Rio Rancho, formerly of Belen, passed away on May 10, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 86 years old. He is preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Maria Aragon, his son Emanuel, sister Nancy and brothers Phillip and Robert Aragon. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife Mary of 45 years; his 5 children Luana Harrell (Gary), Raymond Aragon, Emanuel Aragon (Marianna), Israel Aragon (Adrienne), and Reyna Aragon, and his 13 grandchildren Justin, Melana, Nathan, Shalene, Darrin, Arielle, Monique, Joshua, Joziah, DJ, Noah, Davis and Elora. Richard is also survived by his sisters Mary Lou Horcasitas, Bernice Salazar (Danny), Rosella Natzke, and sister-in-law Marcella Aragon, and a special niece Linda Lujan (David).      Richard will be remembered for his love for his family, his humorous nature and his love for hunting, fishing and socializing at casinos. He never met a stranger.      Richard graduated from Highlands University in 1955. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War, and as Mayor of Belen. He was also a local business owner.      Services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church on Wednesday May 16, 2018 with the Visitation at 10:30, Rosary at 11:00 and Funeral Mass at 12:00. A reception will be held immediately following at Belen Eagle Park. Richard will be laid to rest at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Thursday May 17 at 9:45.      The family wishes to thank Dr. and Mrs. Roland K. Sanchez, Dr. Adolfo Sanchez and Armada Hospice for their loving care of our husband, father and grandfather.  >
